Ok, here’s a couple of quick tips to make your Firefox use more productive.

  • Ctrl+Tab scrolls between Firefox’s Tabs (ctrl+shift+tab goes the other way)
  • Ctrl-T opens a new tab
  • Ctrl-F4 closes the current tab, middle-clicking also has the same effect
  • Click on any bookmark, and enter a keyword. Now, Firefox will open this bookmark when you enter this keyword into the address field.
  • You can setup Firefox to find an item on the simply by typing your query while focused on the page. To set this up, go to Tools/Options, Advanced and Accessibility, tick “Begin finding when you begin typing”.
  • Ctrl+e locks focus on the search box in the upper right corner.
  • Once focus is on the search box, Ctrl+arrow up/down scrolls through your search engines.
  • There are a large number of extensions available for Firefox. Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/

A few basic tips and tricks for those of you who are not so expert. :-)

  • Ctrl-T creates a new tab in Firefox.
  • You can install extensions and themes by going to https://addons.mozilla.org/
  • Hit the “/” key to enter find as you type mode if you have not enabled it automatically as above
