4 Days to go

Well, there’s 4 days to go before the wedding, and I’m running around, doing some last minute preparation. Order of Service are mostly printed. There’s just the question of getting my best man to write his speech. As an aside the speech I did for his wedding is up here. Hopefully Richard’s speech will be as good, if not better. I’m looking forward to the wedding day, and going on honeymoon as well.
There’s been a lot going on, which is why I haven’t been able to write as much here as I’d like. Hopefully after I come back and get settled into my new flat, there should be some more posts coming. But I think that this will be the last before the wedding itself. I wasn’t planning on blogging in as great detail as Richard did, or picking as interesting a domain name, but hopefully a few people from work and uni will be reading this. If so, I’d just like to say, I hope you’re enjoying working as much as I’m enjoying this time off. I doubt it though.
If someone can point me towards some tips to monetize this blog, I would be most greatful. I already have an Amazon link to a few products, so if you can think of other ways to earn money from this I would be most greatful. I’ve decided to give up on the Firefox marketing as most of the Firefox users I know have adblock installed, and thats no good for earning money.

Over the past few weeks I have been working on a system to accurately determine how relevant a site is to a particular topic via automated processes. I have slowly, due to my forthcoming wedding, been refining this technique, which I hope to use to rank content garnered from google, as well as several other search engines.
Hopefully in about a months time I will be able to provide more detail, as the wedding will be out the way, broadband will be reinstalled, and I’ll have removed all the asbestos from thousands of properties. Wait, that last part was a joke, at someone who shall remain nameless’ expense.
So far it is just 1 week and 3 days to go till the wedding, and it looks as though there will still be a lot to do. Unfortunately, it looks like work is getting heavy at the moment, so I will be trying to juggle sleep, work and wedding prep. as well as moving into a new house, trying to keep myself sane, and maintain my relationship with my fiance. Oh, and finances – which don’t seem to be too stressed, but its not a very pretty sight at the moment.
Hopefully things will get a little quieter soon.

Well, there’s just under 4 weeks to go,and it feels like forever. Most of the heavy work is out of the way, and there’s just people to get replying to the invites we sent out. Hopefully we’ll have a better response rate than we have had previously. I’m having a paintball stag do at Holmbush Farm near Crawley/Horsham. We kick off at 9.30am on the 18th June, so if you can make it, and haven’t yet been invited, feel free to come along. It should be a good bit of fun.
On a related note, I only have 2 weeks 4 days left at work until I have a month off. In that time I’ll be off to honeymoon in Croatia, looking for a new job, and settling into a new flat. Observant people will notice I’ve turned the site into a giant advert, as if it wasn’t already. Doesn’t look like I’ll make enough to retire yet though. Maybe the interest will add up while I forget about it. I usually have Adblock on anyway, so I don’t see them myself.
If you haven’t already, hop over to http://www.getfirefox.com/ and grab yourself a copy of Firefox. Then go to http://adblock.mozdev.org/ and grab Adblock. Once you have done that you can block any nasty ads that appear by right clicking and selecting Adblock Image/Adblock IFrame.

Just over 1 Month to go

Well, the time seems to have flown by, and the Wedding date is getting nearer and nearer. Thankfully most of the important stuff seems to be sorted now – the only remaining obstacle is to get everything paid on time and sorted so I can move into my new flat. Strangely enough I’m not feeling stressed about the whole thing, but I feel like I should be blogging a bit more and letting people know what I’m up to, in case they’re reading this.
Also, I have managed to get the stats working again, thanks to a more recent build of BAStats which works with 1.5.1 so I should be able to keep track of the people that come here. I’m thinking I may create a page which listes the most important stats about the site, which basically means how many people are using firefox.
