RSS feeds and Google

Since adding RSS feeds (and logging) to my blog, I have noticed that the googlebot tends to visit my page a lot more than it used to. It seems that Google likes to crawl pages with RSS links in. I guess thats because its easy for them to get a bunch of links from an RSS feed than to scan a page to determine if anything has changed.

It also seems that due to blogshares I have a larger number of incoming links from various sites. If anyone wants to link to this site, or individual pages within it, I have no objections. What I do object to is referer spamming. This will not work on this site, as I don’t publish referer information on any search engine visible part of the site. So just don’t do it. You know who you are.

Yea, googlebot loves fresh content. Methinks it the incoming links that are getting the bot to come tho. Some of those site are probably getting in the googlebots way so that it get spidered more often, thereby getting you spidered my often ;)
