Experimental Search Engine
| 21/4/2005 | Posted by Pete under General |
At last I have begun to make some progress on creating a simple search engine. You can see the results of my labours over at http://search.socialexperiment.co.uk/. At the moment it is simplistic in its approach to searching, doing little more than a simple keyword density search.
However it is possible to rank individual pages within the search engine for particular search terms. Ranking can be increased to a specific amount only. It will not increase forever. This is to stop people clicking on the same item dozens of times.
Try it out if you like.

I just happened to bump into your blog by Google’s Adsense.
Here is what I saw on Google’s Adsense text block on my site. It was on this page:

Wow! Don’t you have to pay Google for including your site on such text ad blocks?
I was just curious.
