Audience of One

Well, I still seem to be writing for an audience of one, namely myself. Thats alright though, because if someone does happen to read it, they probably wouldn’t find much interesting on here anyway.

I have managed to get PHP and apache2 running on my linux box (Gentoo, Kernel 2.4.22 if you’re interested), so a bit of intensive development will be taking place soon. I’m planning on ditching windows entirely, if I can replace the following:

  • Software DVD Player that just works.
  • Elementary sound mixing software.
  • Some cool multiplayer games :-)

Any ideas ppl ??

Pete.

Search Engine

There is now the beginnings of a rudimentary search engine on RobotII – see http://www.robotii.co.uk/search/ for details. If you like you can add urls to it using the interface and generally play about with it to see how it works. Source code to the search engine will be made available soon i.e. once I’ve managed to tidy up the code into a reasonable state. I have a Wiki – I have lots of things – at http://www.robotii.co.uk/wakka/ [Note: Now defunct due to spam]

If you’re just surfing, you might like to take a look at http://www.imarriedyou.co.uk/ – it’s a friends site, its pretty cool.

If you came here looking for the word viewer – unlikely I guess, here’s a link http://forums.richard-slater.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=21

I will honestly try and put up something interesting here at some point – until then you have to put up with my inane rambling

Useless Junk

At last I’ve found somewhere to put all this useless junk that I keep in my head. After weeks of testing out blogging software, I finally come to a decision on what to use. The software is bBlog http://www.bblog.com/ and its simplistic to say the least, which is good because I can’t stand complication, and also its easy to integrate with what I already have on the site here.

For a taste of whats to come, try http://www.robotii.co.uk/print-calendar/
Its by no means complete, but its getting there. If its useful, use it.

More updates are also forthcoming on http://www.thinkjesus.co.uk/

Pete.
